He said if men refuse to worship God he can turn stones to men to worship him. We are not worshipping God for the good of God but for our own good. God is not begging you to return rather you return to avert the punishment that is awaiting you in the hell fire for being disobedient. Through the first Adam all died and had become short of the glory of God and through the second Adam being Christ all will be made alive who had believed in his salvation by grace through faith in his blood.
